Amy Hamm is a Canadian nurse. Finally. We should rather say was.
She was fired after 13 years of service by her employer, Vancouver Coastal Health, after being charged with professional misconduct by her professional college
His fault: having said publicly (and not in the context of her work) that sex was biological and that it could not be changed. In thirteen years of service, no patient has complained about the quality of care provided by Ms. Hamm. It was the complaints of activists that led to this legal saga.
She dared to talk about reality.

Under the guise of inclusion, the federal Department of Status of Women ended up excluding the ... Women. The next Prime Minister of Canada will have to correct the situation.
At the time of writing, the new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, has abolished the Department of Status of Women. His missions continue, however. Steven Guilbault would oversee it. We understand that this decision is likely temporary.
The firm's thinness is justified by the trade war with the United States. That said, after a federal election, whether Pierre Poilievre or Mark Carney is elected, we believe it is imperative that a department deal with the status of women and gender equality.

No to transfers of men to women's prisons in Canada
To the attention of: The Minister of Justice of Canada The Minister of Justice of Quebec
We, the undersigned, call for urgent reform of Canadian prison policies to protect the safety of women in prison.
Since the adoption of Bill C-16 in 2017, which amended the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code, Canada recognizes gender identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination. Although this law was designed to protect the rights of transgender people, it has had unexpected repercussions on women's equality rights guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in several sectors, including the prison system.

Mohamed Al Ballouz is accused of killing his wife and two children in September 2022. His trial is currently being held in Montreal. He is standing alone.
We learned a few months ago that the accused now identifies as a woman, so much so that journalists have a hard time giving coherent news about this trial.

The recent announcement of the government's Abortion Access Action Plan 2024-2027 is a significant step forward. It marks a renewed commitment to improving access to essential services and accurate information, particularly when it comes to the abortion pill. Curiously, this medical tool is still little used in Quebec, despite its prevalence in other Canadian provinces and the United States. It would be useful to examine the reasons for this delay: is it a problem of medical training, public information, or a persistent taboo surrounding this method?

First seen in 2017, Deepfake Porn is spreading in Quebec. Indeed, teenagers from a high school in Sainte-Thérèse in the Laurentians region were arrested by police in March 2024 for distributing pornographic images of their classmates on social networks; these images were generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Young people face a variety of offenses that could be dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
