On January 30, 2025, criminologist Maria Mourani reported in her column that offender Jérémie Perron, who identifies himself as a woman under the first name Jennifer, was back in prison. He is said to have broken his conditions on numerous occasions. The Radio-Canada article reported that the DPJ had to intervene to protect a teenage girl from Perron's presence.
